Is this R&R spell broken? I'd be interested to know what others thought of this spell from Relics & Rituals. The PCs used it in Bastion of Broken Souls and are now using it as epic characters. A decent fighter can deal incredible amounts of damage with it, but that seems to be necessary at epic levels. In the end, we reduced the duration to 1 round per level. Any views? Richard -------------------- Fourfold Forging Transmutation Level: Clr 8 Components: V, S, F, DF Casting Time: 1 action Range: Touch Target: Weapon touched Duration: 1 minute per level Saving Throw: None Spell Resistance: No Casting fourfold forging upon a suitable weapon, usually a sword, causes it to become four identical weapons. The caster continues to wield one of the four blades as normal and the other three duplicate his attack rolls and damage rolls, including any magical improvements the weapon might already possess. Thus, every blow results in four blows, and every miss results in four misses. Damage inflicted is multiplied by four. The skill of the wielder does not improve, but his effects are multiplied. Any attacks that target the dancing swords not held by the wielder may damage or destroy them as normal, reducing the number of blades the wielder may bring to bear. Damaged duplicates of the weapon do not harm the original and when the spell ends the duplicates simply disappear. Focus: the weapon on which this spell is used must either have been forged four times or must have a tiny symbolic sword attached to its pommel that was forged four times.
