Round 2 Ragnikyr continues playing his lute, inspiring his friends to courageous action. Kerrz takes another swipe at the menacing gnoll facing him. Unfortunately the result is the same, as the gnoll easily sidesteps the blow. Valan draws his sickle as he uses his shield to maximum effectiveness in blocking the gnoll's view of him. The lead gnoll steps up and hacks at Kerrz with his battleaxe. This time the blow lands solidly on the fighter's chest, and Kerrz can feel blood trickling down his torso. The gnoll on the right fires his bow at Gideon. A sudden flare from the campfire distracts him, however, and his arrow flies harmlessly into the night. The gnoll on the left, seeing Tor approach with his chain, drops his bow, draws his axe, and takes a swing at the warrior. His eagerness causes him to rush his blow, however, and it whisles harmlessly through empty air. Tor takes a step to his right to give his weapon more room and whips his spiked chain at his foe, but it doesn't quite go as planned. An unseen kink in the chain spoils the attack and causes the chain to flail harmlessly into the ground at Tor's feet. Gideon loads a bolt in his crossbow, sits up and takes aim at the gnoll on the right. the sorcerer's magic makes the bolt fly true as it buries itself in the gnolls midsection.
