Dak sits quietly as Tor makes his accusations, silently but visibly fuming as Babette add her opinion on the matter. Only after Metrius tries to calm the situation down with his conciliatory manner does Dak respond. "You people think you have everything all figured out, don't you? Well let me tell you something, you have no idea what's going on in Ravensdale. Not that one could blame you, being the outsiders you are, but bullheaded tactics are going to lead you nowhere. At least nowhere you want to go." The last line is uttered with a bitter smile on his face. The young man takes a drink before continuing. Dak points at Tor, "You want to know how I can afford such fine clothing being nothing more than a poor farmhand." He turns his finger to Metrius, "You want to know how I know so much about Ravensdale. I'll answer both your questions since they're related. I know about this town because I was born here and I grew up here. My father worked out at the docks and made a decent living, at least until he was killed in an accident. My mother and were given a nice little sum from the shipping company he worked for since he died on the job and my uncle took care of us so we didn't have to fend for ourselves. That's right Tor. I have money. I bought these clothes when I returned to Ravensdale with my own savings. See, I didn't have to work as a farmhand, I chose to. I don't want to squander what I have like I've seen so many others do." He looks up just as another voice chimes in from behind the group. "Well well well, what have we here? These friends of yours Dak? I didn't know you had any friends." The speaker is a tall, weasely looking individual about Dak's age though not as wellkept. He's sneering at Dak. Two others stand slightly behind him. Dak frowns at the interruption. "What do you want, Otto, we're busy." [sblock=Gideon: ]While you think Dak is being truthful, you get the feeling he's not giving you the whole truth.[/sblock] [sblock=Babette: ]While you think Dak is being truthful, you get the feeling he's not giving you the whole truth.[/sblock]
