Fimble McGee, Gnome Illusionist Fimble, seeing the trap being laid for his friends, quickly devises a plan to use his illusions to his advantage. The gnome whispers some arcane nonsense as he wiggles his fingers over his body. Wherever his vibrating digits pass, his blue cloak transforms and molds into a suit of armor. Down his back a purple cape is draped, and buckled to his left hand is a steel shield with a four part split crest of the colors red, purple, yellow, and blue, the crest of the well-known greater diety Azwan. Sheathed across his back is a small but powerful warhammer. His transformation complete, Fimbus goes about setting the scene for his grand entrance. Reaching into a pouch at his belt, he grabs a pinch of wool and sticks it into his ear. He pulls it out, the wool now covered with ear wax. He holds the waxy fluff in front of his lips and whistles quietly. The whistle is magnified and transformed as the sound waves soar towards the alley. Fimble moves closer. By the time it reaches the three armed men, the sound of the whistle through the wool has become the sound of softly tramping feet, quietly clinking armor, and the thud of quivers and sheaths bouncing against their wielders' bodies. The feet stop tramping just before the alley and now the bending and groaning of wood can be heard, as though three strong men had just drawn their bows. Fimble is about thirty feet from the entrance. He takes the same piece of wool from before and rubs it between his fingers delicately. He mutters incoherently for a moment before vague forms begin taking shape. Fimble moves to the front of the shadowy figures, right in front of the alley. Quickly the figures become more well defined. Surrounding the entrance to the dark side street stands a group of five muscular men. Two are armored in breastplate with small shields, one bearing a dragon, the other a griffon. Both shields look battle tested but in excellent repair. In the fighters' other hands they wield bastard swords. The other three men are wearing studded leather armor. At their hips are sheathed longswords, at their backs are quivers full of arrows, and in their hands, drawn, are elven-crafted longbows. They are aimed at the three men setting the trap. Fimble's "adventurers" are clearly battle-hardened warriors, some have scars, all are strong and confident. Fimble, garbed in his illusory clerical armor, stands proudly at the head of the group. He calls loudly, "In the name of Azwan, I should strike you treacherous cowards down this very moment.
