Race sourcebook compilation

First Post
There have been a few threads attempting to list classbooks by class.

What about a list of race sourcebooks by race?

I am thinking about this in particular becasue 4 race sourcebooks are coming up for gnomes (AFAIK).

This is a quick list being dashed off as I go offline. I'll edit the list later. Please add those I leave out.

DWARVES
Hammer and Helm (Green Ronin)
Heroes of High Favor: Dwarves (Bad Axe)
Quintessential Dwarf (Mongoose)

ELVES:
Eldest Sons (Paradigm
Moon Elves (DarkQuest/Natural 20, PDF)
Quintessential Elf (Mongoose)
Heroes of High Favor: Elves (Bad Axe)
Bow and Blade (Green Ronin, upcoming)

HALF ELVES:

HALF ORCS:
Wrath and Rage (Green Ronin)
Heroes of High Favor: Half Orcs (Bad Axe)

GNOMES:
Gnomes: Masters of Illustion (EN Publishing, PDF, upcoming)
Quintessential Gnome (Mongoose, upcoming)
Heroes of High Favor: Gnomes (Bad Axe, upcoming)
Gnome-book by Green Ronin-don't know/recall title (upcoming)

HALFLINGS:

Hmmm, did I really get 'em all? None to add? I felt sure there was another Dwarf book out there somewhere.

I realized quickly that Bastards and Bloodlines isn't really about half-elves but crossbreeding.

Even though both cover several races, I would definitely slide Races of Faerun and Bastards & Bloodlines in somewhere.

Other than that (and you already mentioned B&B), your list looks complete to me.

Oops - you've accidentally attributed Heroes of High Favor: Half Orcs to Mongoose. If that had really been the case, you can bet it would've been Heroes of High Favour instead. :)

I've edited the first post taking your comments into account. Thanx.

I had thought about Races of Faerun. Personally, I was a bit dissappointed that it didn't provide more splattbook-crunch (e.g. only 1-2 prestige classes for each race, IIRC).

Perhaps you're not intending to include slightly less common and/or subraces, but you might add:

Plot & Poison (drow book from Green Ronin)
Fury in the Wastelands: The Orcs of Tellene (orc book from Kenzer)
Strength and Honor: The Mighty Hobgoblins of Tellene (hobgoblin book from Kenzer [hobgoblins and half-hobgoblins are major playable races in the Kalamar setting)
Lords of the Peaks (giants book from Paradigm)
Unveiled Masters (mind flayers book from Paradigm)
Fang & Fury (upcoming vampire book from Green Ronin)

(I believe Mongoose might also have a Quintessential Drow book on their schedule, but I don't think it's due out for a while.)

Again, I realize these are less common races, but they seem to work with your list in the sense that I THINK these books all provide info for playing the races as PCs. (I haven't seen the two Paradigm books.) Add them or not as you see fit!

Miscellaneous:
Mythic Races
Races of Evernor I
Races of Evernor II
Races of Evernor III

Drow
Plot and Poison
The complete guide to drow

Why would Green Ronin be doing an elf book? I thought the whole point of OGL interlink was to divide the labor. Are they reneging on an agreement with Paradigm?

Not sure exactly why they're both doing an elf book, but apparently Bow & Blade will appear in late summer or early fall. Someone asked about the two elf books on the Green Ronin boards and got this response:

"The books will sufficiently different content-wise and seperated in time by at least six months. There's plenty to say about elves, and of course Paradigm always spends time detailing material for their Arcanis setting, while ours our more generic."

Take that for what you will.

CSB046 has it right. I gave a more detailed explaination in this thread on the Green Ronin Boards if you want to take a look at that.

Essentially, we're doing a more generic book specifically on wood elves and we (and Paradigm) have always reserved the option to do books outside of the agreement as it suited us. Paradigm has always reserved the option to do a dwarf book that more closely ties into their Arcanis setting, for example. And we're perfectly cool with that! :)

Hope that helps,
Nicole
