Races for PHB 3?

We know 2 of the races for PHB 3 (Minotaurs and Githzeari) what would you think the remaining races will be?

I was thinking that like Ebberon they might include a Dark Sun race. On second thought I think they will save Mul and Thri-KReen for the Dark Sun Players Handbook.

You're forgetting Wilden. Its only the 4th race that is in any doubt. DS races would really not make sense to put in the PHB3 IMHO. Its DS specific material. Each of the other settings has a race and a class unique to it. DS may need 2 of each, given how much it varies from 4e default setting concepts. OTOH its possible they may put one of them in PHB3 since you'll probably need it anyway to run psionics. Who knows?

There are plenty of other candidates for the 4th race though. I expect it will be a retool of something from previous editions, but it could also be totally new. Speculation is free, and there is plenty of it. They may not even have decided themselves yet. That book is still a long ways off.

If introducing Psionics is the focus, I wouldn't be surprised to see Elan.

Since one of the races is the githzerai, I would not be surprise if the other one is the githyanki.

WOTC already stated in the Githzerai article that the Githyanki is not the other race.

It was also stated that the Githzerai was the only somewhat Psionic race of the races in the book.

Some have offered conjecture that Gnoll could be the 4th race.

I love Gnolls from a story/background perspective so that would be cool.

I'm excited for the half giant in DS (as well as the thri-kreen), but as has been mentioned those will be in the DS books.

Other than that, nothing sticks out to me as one I would really be too excited for - it will be interesting to see what they do.

The PHB3 will have a Primal feel to it, races etc.

Although many disagree with me but I see 4 psionic classes / 2 primal classes / 2 divine classes.

Thri-kreen are originally from Forgotten Realms, not Dark Sun.

They were in the 1E Monster Manual II (1984), which predates the 1E Forgotten Realms boxed set by 3 years. Unless you're suggesting that they were originally in Ed Greenwood's Forgotten Realms campaign (which dates back to the 1970s)?
