Races of Faerûn - new WOTC book?

While reading this month's Wyrms of the North, I noticed the following bit of text:

"These mechanical hazards are assisted by unswervingly loyal undead servitors -- deathfangs (detailed in Races of Faerûn), bone lurkers, and bonestings. The last are the wyrm's salvaged early attempts at creating a tail-sting."

As far as I can tell, no book titled "Races of Faerûn" existed in 2E, so I would assume this is alluding to a future title.

Has anyone heard any other rumors of a Races of Faerûn book?

I imagine they mean in the section for FRCS. I'm sure THAT's in there.

Btw, Isn't Dau is SCARY SOB? I think he could take down IUZ with out too much problem...

I'll have to check my FRCS when I get home, but I don't remember ever reading about deathfangs.

And yeah, he's pretty darn scary...but for CR 49, he'd better be!

Well I was referring to the fact there was a section called Races of Faerun. You could be right though. I just don't remember seeing Races of Faerun on the schedule for WoTC.


True. But I mean it's just slightly SICK that a dracolich like him COULD in more than theory take down a DEMI-GOD if he got the chance. (I'm basing this off of Dragon 294 issue where they presented Iuz's stats.)

Sean K Reynolds mentioned a while back that he was working on Races of Faerûn.

I checked the FRCS, Monsters of Faerun, and Magic of Faerun, and I couldn't find anything about Deathfangs... I didn't notice anything about Bonestings or Bone Lurkers, either.

I guess they are working on a "Races of Faerun" book.
