rage & armour of the unending hunt

The armour of the unending hunt grants the wearer immunity to fatigue and exhaustion, right, nothing too special with most characters, but imagine if a barbarian got hold of it. They'd be able to rage with no penalty other than AC, effectively gaining Tireless rage much, much earlier. There are no rules I know of that will prevent a barb from using this armour, so is it just me or did wizards create a munchkin's dream? :p

Well certain items are better for certain classes. It's a useful ability for a barbarian, but is still costs what 21K or so? Also look at warforged barbarians, they are immune to fatigue at 1st level. It's useful, but not earth shatterlingly so.

Yeoman made a good point. Also, in the campaigns I've played, battles generally end relatively quickly- I played a Barbarian in a campaign that went to 20th level, and only once did I ever noticeably run out of Rage before the battle was over. (I took Extended Rage next time I leveled up, and so it never happened again.) In other words, the Fatigue after Rage is such a nonissue already that something that grants immunity to it is far from game-breaking. It gets rid of a rarely-occured annoyance, so it's not that bad in my opinion.

How often do people actually hit the fatigue?

That is the big question here.

I don't think it happens very often, if at all. Usually a rage will last 6 rounds (and that is assuming we have a very frail barbarian with con 13 - not very likely), most fights are over sooner.

It is very far from being a munchkin's dream. I think the -2 AC are disadvantage enough.

I've rarely ever seen a barbarian actually get to the fatigue point in their rage. Battles usually are over well before that.

Sure, it's useful, but it's not OMG-the-sky-is-falling broken.

I've rarely seen a barbarian's rage end before the battle did. So it's not too big of a deal. It's fairly useful to a barbarian but most I know wouldn't take it.

I think I've seen some of my first barbarian fatigues back to back in Living ENWorld. The first was frigging annoying because he couldn't chase after the ambushers before they got away. The second, I was GMing, and the hobgoblin band specifically waited in the bushes until just after the barbarian's rage wore off before coming out. Guess I'm mean :uhoh:
