Okay, I'm just gonna give up. I suck at naming things. I'm going to take the classic WotC "Carpet of Flying" route and just start naming all of my stuff by exactly what it does.
Anyway, I've been looking over my psionics stuff lately, and had an interesting idea. Barbarians are wild warriors who allow their anger to send them into a frenzy of deadly power. Wilders are semi-wild manifesters who allow their emotions to fuel their powerful... uh, powers. They just kinda seem to go together, to me.
The Rage Mage was a minor starting point, as the use of a Raging Wilder is severely limited without the ability to manifest while raging. So, here's a PrC designed to allow the explosive anger of a barbarian to help fuel the emotional power of the wilder.
Note that Raging Wilders are limited to how many powers they can manifest while raging, as they can only use so many of their remporary power points. If they manifest a power at maximum, they're out of PP for that rage. And at the earliest you can enter (Wilder 3/Barbarian 3), you've only got one rage per day, 3 with Extra Rage. The temporary PP gained is also offset by the loss of manifester levels, and thus loss of total power points. So, all in all, I feel it's pretty well-balanced.
[Edit]
more inspiration, made it a 10-level PrC, instead of 5-level. Added a few spiffy new abilities.
[sblock=Class Features]Feral Power
When you rage, you may expend your psionic focus. If you do, you gain temporary power points equal to your manifester level. The bonus power points last until the end of your rage.
You may manifest powers while in a rage, but only those that can affect you, and you may only target yourself with such powers. You may only use your bonus power points to manifest powers while raging, not your usual power point total. Any powers you manifest while raging end when your rage ends.
If you use your Wild Surge ability while raging, you must use the maximum Wild Surge amount available. For example, if you have Wild Surge +2, you may not use Wild Surge for a +1 bonus while Raging, only for the entire +2 bonus. If you suffer a psychic enervation while raging, your rage ends immediately.
Extra Rage
You gain one extra use per day of your rage ability. At level 8, you gain an additional use of your rage ability.
Feral Surge
While you are raging, your Wild Surge ability increases by +1. At level 9, your Wild Surge ability increases by +2 while you rage.
Feral Presence
When you use your Feral Power ability, you gain a bonus to your Charisma score equal to the bonus you gain to your Strength and Constitution scores. You may choose to use your Charisma or your Constitution to determine the duration of your rage, whichever is higher.
Instant Manifesting
When you use your Feral Power ability, you may choose to manifest a single power as a swift action. This power must normally have a manifesting time of one round or less, and you are still limited in the powers you may manifest in this way.
Raging Euphoria
While you are raging, your Surging Euphoria ability is increased by +1. if you do not have Surging Euphoria, you gain Surging Euphoria
+1, but only while raging.
Feral Manifesting
When you use your Feral Power ability, you gain a bonus to your Manifester level equal to 1/2 your class level. This increases the maximum number of power points you may spend on a power, as well as the number of bonus power points you gain while raging.
Feral Perfection
When you use your Feral Power ability, you are considered to be psionically focused as long as you continue to rage. In addition, you may use your Wild Surge ability to increase your combat prowess. As a swift action, you may grant yourself a bonus on attack rolls, damage rolls and to your AC equal to your Wild Surge bonus, but you suffer the chance for enervation normally. These bonuses last for one round.[/sblock]
