Raistlin and the War of Souls

First Post
Since it's been a while since I've read Dragons of a Summer Flame and can not recall if Raistlin died at the end of it bear with me:) In the Epilogue of Dragons of Lost Souls there is a mysterious man wrapped in cloaks and demanding to a cabin boy that he make the captain make the ship go faster, could this be Raistlin? He certainly would have reason to be wrapped in cloaks since he would be recognizable to everyone? Well if this theory is no good, be free to tell me and if it has merit, hey all the better for my fave DL character:)

Raistlin left with Paladine at the end of Summer Flame. I'm anxious to read the third book in the war of souls. It had been years since I had read a dragonlance novel and I recently got summer flame and the war of souls books. I'm addicted all over again. :)

If not Raistlin then who?

I'm not giving up hope for Raistlin:) But I'm wondering who it could be.. My brother and some of his friends seem to think that the person who taught Palin and Dalamar magic (Wild and Necromancy) was actually Raistlin working in disguise(despite the fact that Palin said that the teacher was a spy for Malys). Next to the Cloaked Figure being Raist I'm not quite sure who it could be, all the Heros of the Lance are dead, save Tas that is, and Kitira would have no need to take a ship being undead and all:) Oh well just more idle speculation on my part:)

I assume this happened during the chaos war books. Are they worth reading? I went from dragons of summer flame directly to the war of souls so I was scratching my head at a few points.

Don't read the Dragon Overload trilogy

IMHO, they are best left undisturbed...By the way, which one is the Dragon of the Lost Souls? Are you sure, you're not talking about the Dragon of a Lost Star? ;)

The authors, Weis and Hickman (or at least Tracy anyways) promised that Raistlin would be back, and that no one had said definately that Raistlin went with the Gods after the Chaos War. I for one, would not think that Raistlin would do such a Gandalfish move, just so that he can remain an unique Master of the Past and Present and also the fact that he may have started to care for the people of Ansalon (or at least his immediate family) may have "prevented" him from going to the Dark Side. :D

Warning, a minor virtual SPOILER ahead...

Originally, I thought the authors had intended the One God to be Raistlin. After all, he is the Master of the Time (or at least the present and the past) and he was a God (an unchallenged and supremely omnipotent one at that) in another alternate reality. Once Raistlin ascended into Godhood, he may have altered Space and Time (or Space and Time may be been alterred irrevocably once he did ascend to Godhood) to exist beyond his spectrum of reality. Or so I thought...I was dissapointed to find out that I was wrong.

Oh well...

I now am pretty sure Raistlin will at least make a cameo appearance in the third book. I cross my fingers. ;)

Soth is alive (well, dead, but ambulatory) and in Krynn. He was ripped screaming out of Ravenloft by the spirits of the elven women he murdered.

Hickman and Weiss wanted him back in their setting.

IMO, nothing Dragonlance has been worth reading since the last Legends book. ;)

Question for anyone who's reading the War of Souls:

Is High Sorcery coming back, or does the new magic seem to be staying?
At the end of book 2, its really looking like some big time reversal restoration thing is going to happen. Which is lame because, well.. time travel is lame. But what can you do. The books are still good despite that major flaw.
