Random Con in July in Phoenix, AZ

Anyone here go to this Con?

Does anyone at this Con play something besides 4E or Pathfinder?

In other words, would it be a waste of my time going if I want to find/run games of Mongoose Traveller, Castles and Crusades, Hackmaster Basic, Aces and Eights, or other RPG's?

Oh, I have signed up to run games, and I suppose I could e-mail them, but its in their best interest to tell me, "Oh yeah, show up, there are lots of players!"

Never mind all those players are only interested in running 4E, Pathfinder, or 3E, and they know it.

So what I want is input from independent parties who have been at the Con in the past and have seen a variety of games beyond 3E, PF, and 4E being played there.

Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the US, so I hope there are Phoenix board members here who have also gone to this Con.

I think being initially suspicious is the wrong approach but I'm sure that doesn't allay your fears. I noticed that the search engine they have installed on their scheduling page doesn't have Pathfinder but if that hasn't been updated since last year then it would have been before the official PF release, so not really much help. Still, look over the menu from that engine and note that there are other RPGs. Also, go ahead and email them. Give them the benefit of the doubt. If you find out later that they lied you might be better off than just suspecting they are going to be liars before you even give them the chance. Also, start a thread in their forums and see if it provokes any activity from previous attendees. You might also do a google advanced search with enworld.org and some keywords like "RandomCon" or "Phoenix" or check with the C&C TL guys, on Mongoose forums, and with Kenzer to see if any support is going out that way. But honestly, I find your lack of faith disturbing and your lack of resourcefulness even moreso.
