Random Treasure with MIC

I want to make sure I'm doing the MIC random treasure thing right. I just did the treasure for an 18th level character.

Rolled on the chart, then I roll for coins and gems/artwork. Then it gives me an item number (19). I go to the item chart, and roll for that item. And that's it right?

The reason I'm asking is after doing the treasure for 6 18th level characters, ALL of them have less treasure than a standard 18th level NPC by a fair margin. Am I suppose to assume some kind of standard treasure (like the classic +4 cloak of resistance, +6 to primary stat, etc etc)?

If you are making 6 - 18th level PCs from scratch they should have:

2 - 18th lvl items
2 - 17th lvl items
2 - 16th lvl items
... etc all the way down to 1st level items, now you can trade items up and down as stated on pg 228 of MIC.

That's for PC Wealth. For NPCs, consult the table on p 227 for the appropriate item levels. For levels 7 to 20, the rule is, two items of two levels below the NPCs level, then one each the next four levels down. (For 18th, this is 16, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12)

OP, what you are doing is calculating a standard treasure hoard. NPCs are equipped better than standard treasure (at this level, about 3 times better).
