[QUOTE="irdeggman, post: 3040259, member: 16285"] This part. Having a feat (or combat style for the case of a ranger) as a prerequisite doesn't mean that the subsequent feat can't be used - which is what you are saying (if I've read your statement correctly). You do not automatically lose access to (or the use of) subsequent feats that have other feats as prerequisites that you can't access (or use) due to one reason or another. Now if the subsequent feat had the same prerequisites (that are no longer being met) (like the Cleave tree (all require Str 13 and the 1st feat in the tree is power attack). So if you suddenly lost your Str 13 then you wouldn't meet the prerequisites for any of the feats. Now if Cleave instead of having prerequisites: Str 13, Power attack only had Power attack listed as a prerequisite and Power attack still had Str 13 listed as a prerequisite - if you lost your 13 Str then you could still use Cleave (since Str 13 is not a prerequisite (in my example - not the actual feat) but would lose access to Power Attack. Using the ranger combat style tree. If at 2nd level the ranger chose the 2 weapon fighting style and received the two weapon fighting feat then at 3rd level took 2 weapon defense (prerequisites Dex 15, 2 weapon fighting) and was wearing heavy armor you would still get the benefits of 2 weapon defense (as long as you had the Dex 15 prerequisite) even though you have lsot the ability to use 2 weapon fighting due to wearing the heavy armor. {You can still use 2 weapons, the feat only negates some penalties for fighting with that way}.
