Everyone complains about munchkins, but I've never really been able to meet any. Sure there were people that I played with in high school that might qualify as munchkins, but they have long since quit gaming. All the people that I know who are over the age of 18 and still game are almost anti-munchkins. It seems like all serious gamers that I know are anti-munchkin. In high school we used to do a lot of hack and slash, but not anymore. I've been trying to find some of these munchkins so I can play a good old dungeon crawl. However, it seems like every gamer that I meet now says something to the effect of "I am a serious role-player who dislikes dungeon crawls and combat!" Sure I like role-playing and interesting characters, but there are times when I just want to play a dungeon crawl and hack up some monsters. Besides I've played with too many people who are all role-playing and no combat. I've played with groups that spent an entire session debating a course of action. I've played with groups who spent entire sessions role-playing characters and developing a story at the expense of any memorable action. I've even played with a player who played a depressed bi-polar elf who avoided combat half the time because he was so depressed(yes, this is a true story!) Why can't I find munchkins who are serious gamers? Why can't I find munchkins who are over the age of 18? I just want to do some good old fashion dungeon crawl sessions, only to find there is no one who has any interest in them. If anyone knows of any munchkin gamers, please tell me. I might be interested in playing with them!;)
