The Predators showing up on an icy continent was another, but there weren't only inconsistencies with the other movies, it went ahead made itself new ones.For example, why did the weapons of the Predators in the first fight all melt from acid while fighting the Alien. Then later the 'hero" Predator time and again slices and dices Aliens with no wear or tear on his identical equipment?Also they make a point that the Predator can see the insides of each person throughout the film, then when he's taken away by dozens of them on the ship, none of them notice?The characters were all blatant cardboard stereotypes ("look at the photo's of my kids") that you never give a flying-whoop about. (But thankfully they die quickly)Especially unbelievable was the super-duper-heiroglyph-speed-reader archeologist who seemed to be able to glance around a room and then wax eloquently about the history of the place.Then he also "scooped" that because the Mayan calendar was base 10 that the maze shifted every ten minutes... ummm minutes are based on 60 seconds how is that have any relation to base 10? You could go on and on...Other than the quality of the special effects this movie was cheezey, I was half expecting a little Predator smooch session at the end. Seeing the Alien queen run around was probably the highlight though. [/SPOILER]</blockquote>
