Message: <blockquote data-quote="Deset Gled" data-source="post: 4876658" data-attributes="member: 7808">Watchable, but overall a below average movie.  Ignoring the complaints I had with the book (which I can't hold the movie accountable for), my biggest complaint is that the movie simply doesn't work unless you've read the book.  The story was very rushed, the titular plot ignored (despite the fact that it's part of a long running plot that is central to the series), and almost all the dramatic points (especially the end) were underwhelming.  I also felt there were too many details hidden in places where they will be impossible to see without HD, which could be argued as a technique to tell more story than they otherwise had time for, but felt more like a ploy to push blu-ray more than an actual visual technique.  I will say that Draco gave a pretty darn good performance, and that the mis en scene in some scenes (like the early scene at the Weasley house) was well done.</blockquote>
