SCI FI Friday's anchor show retook the ratings lead for the cable network on Friday, August 19 -- though all three original series remained close. Battlestar Galactica earned a 2.1 average household rating. Stargate SG-1 started off the night with "Beachhead," the sixth episode of the ninth season. The episode earned a 1.9 household rating, down five percent (one-tenth of a point) from the previous week's episode. Though a minor fall-off, it is SG-1's lowest of the season to date, and the first time the show has been under the 2.0 mark since the February 18 episode "Citizen Joe." But it's also a 0.1 point improvement over the same broadcast week a year ago. Stargate Atlantis held its lead-in audience in the 9 p.m. time slot, with "Trinity" also earning a 1.9 rating. This is a 10 percent drop from the previous week's episode. Galactica finished off the evening with "Home, Part 1," its 2.1 average rating a five percent improvement over the previous week's 2.0. SG-1 and Atlantis did help to off-set the ratings drops with higher ratings for Friday's late-night reruns. SG-1 earned a 1.4 the second time around (up from 1.1), and Atlantis followed with a 1.0 (up from 0.9). Galactica's 1 a.m. rerun stayed even with a 0.7 rating. Firefly also held steady for the night, even with last week's 1.2 rating in the 7 p.m. time slot.
