Rations not in SRD?

Once again, I have found what appears to me to be an odd thing left out of the SRD. (Of course, last time it turned out it was somewhere other than I was looking, but still.)

I'm looking at equipment- and I cannot find the rations. Yes, rations- the food packets that adventurers throughout the planes carry into dungeons with them and subsist on while trekking through the wilderness.

Am I on crack here? Moreover: what do rations weigh? I'm going to use this as the baseline to help determine the amount of rations my pcs can harvest from a slain beast in one of my games. (My PH is not at hand right now, and though I could go get it, the SRD is a convenience that I was hoping would pull through for me on this.)

Don't kid yourself. It might seem like you're able to adventure more quickly and with greater clarity but it is definitely more expensive and sooner or later you'll run out of crack in the wilderness and go through withdrawals. Better to stick with the trail rations now that you've found them again.

The funny thing is, there is a pc in my halfling game who is a crahk-head, and had all kinds of problems when he ran out (got ripped off, etc...)

Everybody knows that rations aren't food. They're just an inventory slot to show the DM. "Yes, we do have rations, see?" - "Huh, that number looks the same as it did four days ago... ah, ok."

As a player I often go searching for that entry, I lose it every time.

"..Alright! it's been about a week on the trail, mark off the rations and water."
