The company within the Black Lion was mostly human, but humans of many different cultures from different lands, making the tavern seem almost a patchwork of colours both bright and muted. There were a few non-humans or partial-humans as well...a half elf sitting near an elf, for instance, and a grizzled old humanoid bull that looked more than half like a minotaur. Knots of more drabbly garbed Lakelanders, off-duty militiamen beyond a doubt, rounded out the company. Though more drabbly garbed, and somewhat clannish among themselves, they seemed mostly of good cheer. As Qore took in the company, Vidya entered the tavern and immediately walked over to the bartender. "Greetings, Human Male Bartender," she said, completely unaware of the customs of such establishments -- a thing which had not been programmed into her. "I am seeking a Human Male Engineer named Diomaxis Mal-Uhwar. Do you have information on his location?" The bartender seemed momentarily taken aback, then relaxed somewhat, and peered at Vidya closely. "Yea," he said, "and certain to the Good Gods and the God of his ancestors, he'd be happy to get a look at thee. Belike, though, he's left Torgmorn, and I've no thought to when he's to return, if at all. He went with a Company he hired, or which hired him, into the jungle, or so rumour would have it. What it was he sought is beyond my ken, for there are no clockworks in the wilds that I know of. Mayhap there are others who know more." The barkeep turned to Qore. "And you, my good dwarf, look none to steady on your feet. What shall I get thee to wash the sea from your legs, and ground thee once more? I've a strong stout ale would wash the salt from your spine, at half a silver penny a pint tankard."
