At GenCon, I played in a session of Unhallowed Metropolis, which is a mash-up of zompocalypse and Victorian/Steampunk horror. I had so much fun I went and bought the book at the convention. In this world, the zombie plague occured in 1905, killing off about 70% of the world's human populace. Fast forward 200 years, after the cities have been reclaimed and become walled fortresses against the undead. In London, the focus of the game, toxic smog from industrial pollution and crematories makes wearing a gas mask a neccessity when walking about the streets. Even within the walled cities, outbreaks of zombie plague can still happen, as the dead sometimes spontaneously reanimate, especially in the overcrowded slums. It's a simple system (roll 2d10 and them, then add your attribute or skill, both scaled from 1 to 5, against a target number. Hit locations, of course, are part of the system, to allow for the genre sacred cow of head shots.) Combat is pretty quick and deadly. Beyond zombies, the setting also has "natural" vampires, mad scientists, an epidemic of serial killers, ghosts... lots of potential for different campaign types.
