Recommend an exploration adventure?

I'm looking for a module or adventure that allows characters to explore a newly found land mass. Basically, the hook for the characters would be first contact, mapping, trade, acquiring precious natural resources, and not getting killed by natives and/or natural hazards.

Anyone know of something like this or something that can be adapted to this? Thanks in advance.

I know this sounds stupid because it's the FINALE in a whole adventure path, but NO adventure has captured my sense of exploration more in years than Spires of Xin-Shalast. Exploring a Shangri-la style city at the top of the world that bridges the gap between our reality and Leng? Yes please.

It's amazing. Greg Vaughan continues his tradition of excellence.

It probably wouldn't be hard to adapt it to a non-path adventure truth be told.

No. :p

In all seriousness, X1 is exactly what you're looking for. You could take the update from the Savage Tide adventure path in Dungeon, but you'd have to combine bits from several adventures. You could probably make something from Eberron's Xendrik advntures & sourcebooks, but that would invovle some work. Otherwise, there are lots of adventures that deal with site exploration, but very few I can recall that give you an entire landmass.

Dungeon 114 updated X1 to 3.5e sort of. It's called Tides of Dread and is based off the original module, not a direct conversion. The issue also has a backdrop article on the Isle. It's well worth looking into. If you have a copy of X1 to supplement it with, it's all the better.
