Recommendations for a Special Ops Game?

I'm getting ready for a d20 Modern mini-campaign that I'll run later this winter. It's set in Afghanistan in late 2001, and the PCs will all be part of an advance American special ops team. I'm looking for sourcebooks that will (1) provide good reference material with enough details to make the special ops stuff feel authentic, and (2) provide rules that will enhance a military game with a gritty, realistic feel.

So far, I'm considering picking up the following:

  • Green Ronin's Ultramodern Firearms d20
  • The Game Mechanic's Modern Player's Companion
  • Steve Jackson Games's Covert Ops (a GURPS book)
  • Steve Jackson Games's Special Ops (a GURPS book)

Do these books fit the bill? And are there other books out there to consider?

Big Bang: The Mostly Illustrated RPG Guide to Modern Weapons.

The Special Edition covers weapons used in the recent war in Iraq, so you get extensive coverage of current US weapons, as well as coverage of a range of soviet era weapons which are remarkably absent from similar products.

Volume 3 covers the weapons developed as part of the Army Future Combat Systems program, a number of which are either being fielded with Special Forces or are on the verge of being fielded.

Best of all, buy them before christmas and you can get them individually on sale or as part of a bundle for way dirt cheap on rpgnow.

And yeah, I wrote them.

I also suggest both Blood & Guts books from RPGObjects, and rather than Real Life Roleplaying: Afghanistan, I'd rather suggest a trip to the CIA World Factbook website and rummaging through the archives of CNN.com or MSNBC.com.

Hmmm....
Volumes 1,2 & 3 together come up to less than the pack... does it include volume 4, or is it something else?

Also... Why not just ONE day longer? :)
Payday is the 24th.

Actually, the sale will probably last until the end of the year.

The pack contains volumes 1-4, plus the special edition, plus a few promo items produced over the last 10 months (these aren't available for sale), plus an acrobat search index that can be used to search through everything in the pack, provided you have the search-enabled version of acrobat reader installed.
