Recommended Wizard / Wizard sub types

Hi thinking of creating a wizard / wizard sub type and was wondering what were people's views. The group I play with is a genuinely good aligned group with 1 or 2 pushing chaotic/neutral. I'd also like a race with some reasons why. Also would be 12th level plus

I really like buffing Wizards. It was especially good in my PK-happy party. Nobody wanted to kill the guy who was making em stronger every day. Shield, Fly, invis... All are really good. the animal buffing spells are really good too. Once you get to a high level, there aren't as many buffing spells, so you'll become a pretty much normal wizard at 10+ level. If you're gonna convert to 3.5 though, don't be a buffer wizard, because allthe buff spells are getting nerfed.

A little thing on the necro cant be done with our DM as he will say that using necromantic spells such as animate dead etc is evil and my alignment will be evil before I know it
