Hey all! Glad to see the amount of interest is there. Sorry for not following up sooner but Easter weekend and all...blah blah blah... Here's a few points to help give more detail: 1. The game will be d20 Modern. I will be using OGL Cybernet as a resource, and cybernetic goodies and futuristic equipment will become available as the game progresses, but at the outset you'll be creating d20 Modern characters. 2. 32 point attribute buy. 3. Maximum starting wealth bonus: 8 + feat bonus (if applicable) 4. I mentioned this already, but just to clarify: you only need the d20 Modern SRD--you *don't* need OGL Cybernet (but it's a cool book to pick up--and if you have it, you're welcome to...uh...read it). 5. The name "Cthulhupunk" might be a bit misleading: the game has nothing to do with the GURPS book of the same name, EXCEPT that I stole the name ;) and the game will be cyberpunk meets Cthulhu Mythos. 6. If you don't know anything about the Cthulhu Mythos, GOOD. Your characters won't know anything about it either, so if you don't as a player, that only helps. If you are a Lovecraft addict or something, try to erect the metagaming wall between player and character knowledge. And keep in mind that *MY* take on the Cthulhu Mythos will be significantly different from what you may be expecting. :] 7. I don't want to get into a bunch of world detail right now, but here's a quick few pointers: the year is 2023 and the world is similar to what we know now, but some major changes as well. Corporations rule. Most people live in sprawling Megaplexes with upwards of 10 million people. Everyone is connected to the Web (the "internet" as we know it is dead). 90% of the population cannot afford cyber or bio-enhancement. The other 10% are either wealthy, or in the service of the wealthy, or criminals. Replicants walk among us. They are not outlawed (as in Blade Runner) but they are highly restricted. Space travel has not gone past Mars, but there is a base there and on the moon. Only the ultra-wealthy or the scientists who work for them ever leave the planet. Pollution rampant. Hedonism rampant. Crime rampant. For quick-and-easy film inspiration, *Blade Runner* is, in many ways, the world I envision. 8. No net-running, web-crawling, matrix-jacking, whatever you want to call it. The game will take place entirely in the physical world. 9. I can only take four players. I want to give everyone who is still interested a chance to ask any questions, and then I'll explain how I'll choose the four (if there are still that many wanting to play! ;) ) 10. Posting frequency will be every 1-2 days. PLEASE don't commit to this game if you can't post that frequently. No double posting and all that stuff. Whew...pant pant pant...I'll stop there. Any questions so far?
