A brief Introduction... The IR is a turn based strategy game that relies on players to ask themselves the question, "What would happen if there was an Industrial Revolution in my campaign setting." Now skip the part where people try and stop the whole revolution. It is already starting, and it means changes. Lots of changes. For one, technology is a lot easier to steal than a spellbook, and technology gives the average man the ability to launch a 60 gram cartridge of metal into the flesh of a spellcaster from safely far away. Technology is being invented, and that means the world can support better communication and a heartier population. That also means people are going to fight over technology, or fight to destroy it. The IR is a wargame... sometimes. Most of the time its a diplomacy and subterfuge game, and players must be creative in order to get anything done. The best ideas, and the worst ideas can get thrown into a lot. Draw straws and see who was the winner. I recommend you just skip the rules n' stuff because you don't need to know them till you know "how" to play. There is no rule for what kind of ideas you can come up with. Why would there be? The rules are only there to give people a concept of strategy. That way when the DM says your army got squished by the flying mountain (a memory of the third IR) you don't have to argue. It was someone's creative idea, and it might break the rules, but it was fun. I hope some of the other players will drop in to lend some support. I will try and answer questions when I can.
