I do not know what they have in mind but Earthdawn is sooo 4E. In Earthdawn every class archetype develops mystical magic powers that defy reality. IMO it is the setting out there that is closest to 4e's rules. I mean, it is ironic because if Earthdawn had made a D20 adaption for 3e, 4e would have been redundant from a new design point of view.

This makes me tingly with joy.

Seriously, I can see Earthdawn influences all over 4e, and if I can get more mileage out of my 20 Earthdawn supplements, I will be ecstatic.

Yeah, it's a quintessential points of light setting.

God... I'd actually PLAY Earthdawn if it was 4e... not just read the books.
HA!

Yeah, Earthdawn is a 90's game, through and through. Most of the books were 90% fluff, 10% crunch. (And some were 100% fluff, oddly enough...) I bought them anyways, since I'm such a fanboy.

I've boxed up most of my older RPGs, but Earthdawn is still on my shelf. I still pull out the books once in a while, marvel over the setting, and mourn the system which could be so great while being so bad.

Man, if they make Earthdawn a 4th Edition world then I might actually have to buy the core books and every Earthdawn 4e book put out.

Yeah, 4e almost seems more like Earthdawn in some ways than D&D.

I'm thinking of it right now: Dwarven Weaponsmiths. Obsidimen Warriors. And Ork Cavalrymen.

Pure awesome.
