[Ref. Book] Lord of the Rings: Weapons & Warfare

My brother picked this up last night, and I was really impressed. Amazon.com link

Basically, it's a big book with color pictures of arms, armor, and battle tactics for all the races in LotR, as shown through the new movies. Normally, I'd post about this in the Books & Movies forum, but this book has TONS of use as a reference work for any campaign - d20, LotR RPG, whatever - that takes place in a Tolkein-influenced fantasy setting.

Highly recommended. I'll be picking up my own copy soon.

BTW, it's spoiler-riffic, so if you haven't read the books, you'll probably want to wait until you've seen Return of the King to read it. (I found this out the hard way - my wife started reading it before I did, and when I heard her exclaim, "Merry and Pippen do WHAT?", I grabbed it out of her hands. At least she hadn't gotten to the part about Sam yet.

Hmmm, most of the "movie tie-in" books have left me going "ho hum", but this one might be interesting.

I'll have to give it a glance.

I took a quick look at it at work yesterday and I thought it looked good. I plan on getting during employee appreciation days (bigger discount!!! ).
