I really like premade poster battle maps*, and decided to try and document all the licensed 4e battle maps that Wizards of the Coast has released. Partially, I want a one stop location that I can reference all the maps available so that when I need a setting I don’t have to look through products and unfold them. I also wanted a resource for others looking for information on what maps are included with what products. As silly as it may sound, whether maps are included with a product (and what the maps are) is a decision point for me that may tip whether I purchase a given item. I am glad to hear that WotC is going to release a map pack product in 2012. So, this thread will contain a list of the WotC retail products that include poster battle maps, as well as reference pictures of the maps. It will NOT contain non WotC licensed material products (however good they may be!), and it will not include material from previous product line (except of course all the re-used maps released as a 4e product). If a product is not listed here, it is because I believe that no poster sized battle map came with it. For posters with a battle map on one side, and a setting map on the other, I include only the battle map. I am going to try to keep the original posts clean and up to date, so please bear with me while they are compiled and edited. I am still collecting data and this is taking longer than I expected. My intent is for the first post to contain Maps from Retail Accessories and Resources, the second will be for published “Soft Cover Adventure” maps, the third will be for Rewards and Game Days, the 4th is for Encounters and other recurring public play items (Lair Assault?) and the 5th is for third party but licensed battle maps (GF9 at this point). Finally, I have to give a HUGE thanks to Echohawk for both the post listing all the 4e products, as well as a willingness to provide me some information about the maps for products that I do not own. Also, many of these photos are my own, but some were found on Wizard’s site or via on line reviews. If you find any image you think should be removed, let me know. *FYI I am an equal opportunity mapper. When playing, I also make heavy use of my over sized home-made gridded white board, Dungeon Tiles, Gaming Paper, home printed maps, AND my Chessex Mega Mat. I just have a thing for poster battle maps. Remember, this list is for battle maps only.
