Unlike most, he was a flawed product. There was a glitch in the creation schema that was used to direct the forge, and the first model to emerge had the look of a warforged, but was physically deficient in strength, and little skill or desire for battle. Its mind however was remarkably advanced for one of these artificial beings, being superior to even some of the magewrights and artificers that operated the Creation Forge; though this was not obvious until some time had passed. Dubbed 'Tome' because of its fondness for books and voracious reading, the glitched warforged stayed at the forge complex for a time...but was moved into active duty when unusual magical abilities began to surface; perhaps also a result of the malfunction that created him. Between his magical ability to translate languages, and his formidable intellect, Tome became sought after for decoding intercepted enemy messages. On the field, he had the power to link to commanders over distances magically, to relay orders to a squad. Thus, despite his lack of ability in combat, he became a valued asset.</p><p></p><p>After the end of the last war, Tome had hoped to return to Cyre and take up study with Cannith artifiers. The Mourning struck that ambition hard though, and when he enrolled in Morgrave University under a veteran scholarship, it was as a wizard, not an artificer. Despite the handicaps imposed on him by his somewhat bulky armored body, he has stubbornly persevered and finally mastered post-cantrip spells.[/sblock]</p></blockquote><p></p>
