Reflexive Posting

I was reading the stats for the Ice Worm yesterday, just to kill some time, and I noticed that, in it's Death Throe's description, it lists "12d6 Cold Damage" and "8d6 Piercing Damage." It states there being a reflex save, DC 22 half, and it's written after the piercing damage. Now, to me, I'm fairly certain it applies to both damages, but it's a bit vague, and you could make a case for it only being for the piercing damage, and Ice Worm is by no means the only creature that has this kind of vagueness in it's description. Does anyone know whether or not the reflex save applies to both damages?

Yes it does (or at least that is how I have always run it). The save is for half damage from the death throes itself. A few effects specify "save for half piercing damage" or something instead.

Okay, that's what I had thought. Am I the only one a bit peeved on the vague wording of this? (Yes, I know this is hardly the worst case of vague wording from D&D.)
