OoC:No, Vespazian knows of no way into the Castle, other than the tried-and-true (in the movies) sneaking in through the sewers. IC Vespazian, Tsu'koka and Wekerak remained upon the hill, staring in disbelief at the Ogres,Gnoll and Bugbear receding in the distance. Around them, the Gnolls and Bugbears stood uneasy, sensing the tension between the two Captains. Theirs was the lot of those who do not lead, and thus, they would prefer to remain out of such situations. Sroka stands and barks an order in Hobgoblin, gaining the immediate reaction, as all of the Hobs stand and line up,awaiting his order.he Gnolls follow in short order. The Marshall orders all packs forward and open, recieving compliance, as each trooper deposits his rucsack upon the ground, removing the food therein. Sroka has the Corporal begin a reallocatement of the food and water, making sure that each trooper had a fair share to carry as well as to consume. The Gnolls whined a bit at this, then quickly shut their muzzles as Sroka's gaze fell upon them. Their packs had held much food, though nearlyall of it was unfit for consumption by any save their debased digestive tracks. They were allowed to keep the half-rotted goblin meat within, although their water was shared out. Looking to Tsu'Koka and then to Vespazian, Sroka awaited their command. ********************************************************** OoC:I just made the coolest encounters chart for the Plains of Myrach :D Durgo, Bargo and Kurg, along with the Bugbear Sgt , jog off down the hill towards the distant Castle, the three remaining Muragar clanging along behind. Having gone a half mile or so (and indeed, about a quarter of the way to the castle). It is a cry of alarm to the rear that brings Durgo,Bargo and the rest swinging around, to see a frightening sight... The rearmost two Muragar stands in mid jog, turned completely to stone... A trio of metal-skinned bulls stand not 35 feet distant, preparing to charge the Band, honking and stampig their feet in rage. Initiatives Sgt Nilgo {21}levels his massive Arbalest at one of the Gorgons, firing (miss). Kurg {20}, wanting nothing to do with these creatures up close, opens his Dwarfskin bag, causing a rush of foul and putrid air to come forth, followed by the coalescing form of a dessicated dwarf in rotting mail, his Wight Servant. The Wight falls upon one gorgon, slashing it twice with it's Waraxe <2 hits, 1 for a crit 52 HP>. Gorgons {19} Gorgon One blows it's Breath upon the Wight, causing no effect... Gorgon Two Charges the remaining Muragar, missing him. The last Gorgon expels his deadly breath upon the Band, failing to turn any of them to Stone. OoC:Kurg made his save by that much(pinching fingers together...). Bargo {14} Muragar {13} Durgo {7} OoC: Gorgons are 20 feet from the Muragar Soldier and about 35 feet from the others. All have room to charge a Gorgon if they wish. G1 is wounded by the Wight, G2 and G3 are unwounded. ********************************************************** Forlash wings his way about the battle, seeking a way in to the Castle. For those able to fly, there were many ways in, windows and wall sections. For a crow,in particular, there were many places to alight upon. Of secret entrances, there seems to be no sigh. Further up the mountainside are great open vents in the volcano, with poisonous gases escaping. As well, the open top of the mountain looms in the distance, covered in a cloud of ash and soot.
