Removing a Faulty Windows Installation

First Post
To make a long story short, when I put together my current computer, I first attempted to install Windows XP Pro - for a couple of reasons I won't delve into, it didn't work but XP home worked just fine. However, there are still remnants of the "Pro" installation.

Whenever I start my computer, I get an OS selector screen, with the nonfunctioning Pro installation as the default choice - but if I'm not there to select XP Home, it tries to start and instead goes to an error screen, asking for a missing .dll.

It's just a minor annoyance, but how do I remove the faulty XP Pro Installation completely, so that it will automatically start up with XP Home?

On your boot drive in the root directory is a file called boot.ini, just edit that will remove it from the selection list. Removing the actual installation depends more on how you installed the original and the new OS, quite a few if's,and's and but's there.
