Repeat Spell?

Repeat Spell

If the original spell designates a target, the repeated spell affects the same target if it is within 30 feet of its original position; otherwise the second spell fails.

Can you use Repeat Spell on a spell that does not specify a target?


In other words, what clause does "otherwise" refer too?

ya, know, the feat also says

The second spell originates from the same location and affects the same area as the original spell.

Since it says "area", I am going to assume that it works with area-of-effect spells (like fireball) which do not specify a target. So anyway, I've ansered my own question...

Wonder how it would work with magic missile (especially if the first casting specified multiple targets)...
