[QUOTE="BRP2, post: 3252688, member: 47499"] Well, I'm thinking about my next campaign starting out in a Republic. When I say Republic, I don't mean a county's council or something that simple, I'm talking about an entire, New Age, republic with a political parties, campaigns, and races to see who can grab the highest office and most of the senate, all taking place a magical influenced dark-age/renaissance world. The politicians are not especially corrupt, but there is always corruption with power. Overall, its a prosperous nation and it doesn't seem be anywhere near a war. The population is mostly human with dwarves not too far behind, but other races in the minorities. It's important to note, that in the campaign world, Humans are not the most powerful race and, with the exception of this one large republic, are actually pretty unimportant compared the Dwarven Kingdoms and Republics and the huge Elven Empire. The Republic doesn't have a problem with fair governments, even if they are monarchies. The nation itself is allied with such governments, even human feudal states. Mind you, not everyone is happy with empires, kingdoms, and feudal states... thats just the general opinion. [sblock=Extra Details] An important thing to mention that there is no Divination magic at all, with an exception to the level 0 spell-Detect Magic. This means no talking to the dead, no telling if someone is lying, and ect. Charm/manipulation magic is much weaker outside the battlefield, because its easier to detect within a city. This pretty much throws out the possibility of a magic-user manipulating/mastering politics on his spells alone.
