[QUOTE="Elder-Basilisk, post: 2701731, member: 3146"] I'm thinking of writing an adventure that focuses on the PCs' place in the world. It's not being written for any specific group of characters, so I can't tailor it as narrowly as I might like. What I've got right now is a few ideas for encounters: A high level melee combatant is approached by a lower-level fighter who is skilled but not nearly as good the lower level fighter tries to provoke the fighter into a fight. This should work out a bit like an old west gunfight where the fastest gun in the west has to deal with all of the young guns looking to gain a reputation by beating him. Depending upon how the character reacts to it, he could earn a reputation for ruthlessness (by savagely killing the young gun), mercy (by allowing the young gun to live), cowardice (by refusing the challenge in a cowardly way), or whatever else I can think of. A mid-high level divine caster would be approached by people begging for favors from his god. "Please, my father has been afflicted with a horrible disease. Please sir, heal him." The PC has the opportunity to ask for money, to do it without charge, to refuse, etc. Perhaps on the way, the PC could have an opportunity to abandon the healing for another goal (which would need to be pressing and clearly time sensitive but not easy to accomplish without abandoning the mission of mercy). What determines the character's reputation is which choice he makes. Any other ideas? Ideas that can involve mutliple party members of would apply across multiple character classes are ideal.
