Requestiong Half Ogre Stats.

Hullo all. I am Lord_Sloth. Formerly known as Elf_Slayer on the Planet. I have a request. My PH doesn't list Half Ogres at all. Neither does my DMG (unless I'm over-lookin it. I use the 2nd edition). In any case, my DM has granted myself permission to run as a Half Ogre and I just wish for their stats and modifiers. Modifiers are optional.

I checked google but either there are none or I wasn't using the propper Key Words. Wikipedia's info rather limited on the subject as well. Thanks in advance.

In 3.5, the Half-Ogre can be found in Races of Destiny and (3.0/3.5 book) Savage Species. It's not in the core books at all.

 

[Cam Banks]

There are a number of half-ogre versions, even from Wizards of the Coast. The Dragonlance Campaign Setting has one; it's a Medium humanoid (ogre) with a +1 LA. Savage Species has another, a Large giant with an LA +1; and Races of Destiny has an updated Large half-ogre with an LA +2.

Tome of Horrors also has an OGL half-ogre, different from the above.

If so, it was originally published in Dragon #73 (May 1983), and republished in Best of Dragon IV

If you're looking for 1st Ed half-ogre stats (your post has the "1E/2E/OD&D" tag, after all) they were presented in two different Dragon magazine issues, the first time by Gary Gygax ("The Half-ogre: Smiting Him Hip and Thigh," The Dragon #29) and later in an expanded version by Roger Moore ("The Whole Half-ogre," Dragon #73). Sorry I have either of those handy to quote the actual stats, but the first was reprinted in Best of Dragon Vol. 2 and the second in (IIRC) Best of Dragon Vol. 4 if that's any help.
