Revenant Paladin Problem

I said I'd try to sort out the character of one of my players before tonight's session, but, despite trying all sorts of things within the DDI Character Builder, the same issue remains. Namely that his third level Revenant (human) Paladin (honestly, there's quite a good RP reason for this!) can't usefully equip a shield of any sort (i.e. it always appears in red). I'm sure it's glaringly obvious why said character is barred from using a shield, but I'm afraid my brain is letting me down and time is running out!

Any thoughts, gratefully received!

Is it a magic shield, when he's already using an arm slot item like Iron Armbands?

It's a well-known bug in the online CB as of the last release. Your AC should still get the benefit if you equip it.

Is this a mundane shield or a magical shield?
Do you have the WotC Character Builder Summary? With this I can copy+paste it in and see what is going on

As far as I can see unless he is a Hybrid of sorts, using a shield that is restricted somehow, already has something equipped to his arms or something else

Mundane shield (or any other shield for that matter!) but, as noted previously, it just seems to be a bug. If I 'unequip' the shield, the AC drops by 2, so it seems to be working, it just appears in red! (And if I change the race to human, and the character class to fighter, it still appears in red.)

Player was very happy with his newly-printed character sheets anyway, so that's all that matters!

I don't even question it, its good rp reason is almost obvious.
