Nice reviews, but I am still nto sure it is a book that goes where I want the Feywild to go. Granted, I have not read the whole book, but the excerpts just did not sell it to me.

Excellent review! Thanks muchly for posting it.

For myself, I think it's the best book of the 4E era. Here's my review: Heroes of the Feywild: A marvelous book for D&D 4E

Cheers!

Great review! One clarification, though - the Pixie explicitly has Reach 1 instead of Reach 0 as a Tiny creature usually would have, which means that it doesn't have to enter an enemy's square in order to attack in melee (though it may do so). This comes from the Wee Warrior class feature.

You know, I was aware of it... up until when writing I looked at the sidebar about tiny creatures and forgot the pixie had its exception ability to negate that penalty. Thanks muchly for the reminder!

Cheers!

I thought I'd share my review of Heroes of the Feywild here, since it might be of interest to EN Worlders.

Great review, those were my general sentiments as well. Plus you mentioned my watermelon idea (http://www.enworld.org/forum/4e-discussion/312397-pixie-up-2.html#post5700686) which was really cool!

What do you all think of the strikerness of the Berserker? An additional 1d8 on melee basics and at-wills seems weak. Maybe that's the cost of having dual roles but since they only have one role at a time it seems like their ability to fulfill their role shouldn't be lessened.

And when the Witch gets to switch out a daily power, does that mean for ANY other daily Wizard power of the same level? I didn't see any mention of "spells known", so I assume that's true.

The Slayer (which is a pretty good striker) gets +Dex mod+2 on its regular at-will attacks, or about +5. It's fairly standard for such a character; the Thief is exceptional in getting +2d6 (or +2d8 with a feat) for its striker bonus damage.

Scouts (rangers) get +4 damage (using axes + stance) and an additional attack when they hit for 1[W]+Dex (+4)... but they have to hit to deal the extra damage.

Yes - any power. Very strong ability.

Cheers!

It's a good book but I was incredibly disappointed to see that they included nothing significant about the different fey courts. It got a sidebar, and that was it. Not even feats that I can extrapolate some ideas from :(
