The Dark Tower series is, quite simply, my all-time favorite series of books. When I saw Wizards & Glass for the first time a few years ago, my heart dropped into my feet. "He wrote a 4th book!? HOLY ING ! WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN!?" I bought it on the spot.
So when I heard he'd written the last 3 books, part of me was sad but only for a moment. See, I didn't want the series to ever end because I knew it would mean the end of King's writing. It's his life's work after all. But the sadness was soon replaced by resignation and then insurmountable anticipation.
I am now the exceedingly proud owner of Wolves of the Calla. I, too, will probably finish it far too soon and like the reviewer be forced to deal with my subsequent slavering until the next one comes out. Woe is me!
The Dark Tower books are the only King I've ever read (or will ever read, I think; I'm not a big horror fan). I really like them, but my copy of Wolves of the Cella is going to sit on my bookcase for a few more days as I'm spending a lot of time on airplanes next week.
Note to Editors: Just because an author has their name larger than the title does not mean you do not have to edit!
Fifty to a hundred pages could have been cut with no to little loss to the story... Then again I like things with a faster pace nowadays.
Other than that quibble: Great book!!! Never lost interest. Really gets the Dark Tower story line moving along.
Go to the library!
Buy it!
Thief it if you can get away with it!
