We tried but leather is simply, well, destroyed. To make up for the lack of triple stitching on the leather, we use extremely tough thread. It's the most heavyweight thread we could find. All of the drawstring holes on our bags (except the Tiny, but we're working on getting small enough grommets) are grommeted, either gold or silver. We base the color on what matches the bag best, or you can pick it. You pick your drawstring color, and the drawstrings are tough twisted cord. Our leather cord is surprisingly thick and strong.
