I find this very curious! Reading the review, I'm kinda disappointed that the monsters presented are so high level.

I'm really curious about the Buam campaign setting. I like to collect exotic campaign settings, like Niyambe.

Hello, Rechan! My apologies for the late reply - I forgot to bookmark the thread, so I had trouble finding it again.

The tikbalang as monsters are designed to feature prominently at paragon level, where forays into the Fey Realms are more common. That being said, the basic tikbalang monster (the addlewalk) can be lowered to as far down as 6th level using the DMG rules. So the first tikbalang can be encountered by adventurers as early 4th level.

We're currently working on our second e-book - which details the asuangs, the iconic boogeymen of Filipino fantasy. These creatures start out at 4th level, and are spread out all the way to early epic level. :)

I've just completed a review of the first product from Nosfecatu Publishing - called Tikbalang: Guardians of Kalikasan. It features a new Fey Character Race based upon Filipino Folklore - as well as monsters based upon that race.

I just bought this and posted a mini review on rpgnow

Its a nice, evocative race more than worth a measly $1.50. Seems fairly balanced to me as well.

Hey Beej, will there be a Manananggal? Similar to the Pennanggalan?

Yes. :) The mananaggal is part of the upcoming asuang e-book. It is, in fact, the creature that we've chosen to grace the cover (if things go according to plan :uhoh:).

Hello, pauljathome!

Thank you for the purchase, as well as writing the mini-review! :) It's nice to see a review at rpgnow itself. While reading through it, I remembered the tikbalang I recently built using the Character Builder. It only took a few extra minutes to add in the extra details, and I chose that new primal controller available through the DDi.

The new class worked well with the tikbalang, even though it wasn't the optimal choice stat-wise. The racial power kept Tagpana (the character I built) very mobile.
