Very interesting take on the shaman / witch doctor dual split class. I always liked that detail for humanoid tribes in the DMG. It's a little unclear whether it is intended to be closer to the thief-acrobat model, multi-class, dual-class, or XP sharing side-class like the OA ninja. I think I would favor making it a late-starting multiclass in my own games : once you add it, all XP are shared 50% (at least until you max out the S/WD levels). I think there should be a mechanism, even if only intended for NPCs, for someone from a barbarian tribe to be a S/WD from first level. In an older campaign I had a MU variant for pre-literate societies. Basically they cut the min/max spells per level in half, but didn't need spellbooks because they learned their spells by heart using various tricks. They could make fetishes instead of scrolls, but each one could only hold a single spell. In exchange they were a little more durable than a normal MU, with d6 hit die, and could use some simple weapons and armor. The Barbarian S/WD is also kind of paradoxical, since the former gets significant magic resistance (saving throw bonuses) which I attribute to their ethos of refusing magic in all its forms. Therefore, personally I would also remove the saving throw bonuses and the "virtual magic weapon" ability from characters who choose this path.
