[QUOTE="Celebrim, post: 9876873, member: 4937"] Multi-classing is not available to humans. They can't do it. And shared XP is massively punishing and per multi-classing rules never stops even when you max out your level in a class. The inspiration for how this works is from the Entertainer class. I would accept and would assume that monstrous humanoids are multiclass monster/shaman/witch doctors starting from 1st level. I have ran a 1e AD&D monster focused campaign with characters as kobolds, goblins, and hobgoblins and did have a "monster warrior" class that monstrous humanoids could advance in. It's not explicitly stated in my write up that this is the source of their powers. Likewise, in my write up of the class they explicitly do not refuse magic in all forms - only that alien to them. This is to fix the biggest problem with the class, which is the "can't play nice with PC spell-casters" issue. I don't consider the B/S/WD to be paradoxical at all. Even the original write up suggested that their tribes had Shaman's and Witch Doctors. In any event, the bonuses to saving throws are absolutely essential to the class, since without them it lags characters of similar XP too much in its saving throws. The class absolutely needs the saving throw bonuses to be balanced in play. If you take them away, they have worse saves than any other class. The only change I made really was to not front load the class so much where it was all powerful at 1st level then everything else caught up. Remember, this class hits like 13th level when M-U hits 18th, fighter hits 20th, and thief hits 23rd. And if you went the full caster route as in my write up, you'd only hit 11th by that point.
