Revised SRD???

Ranger REG

By the time most of you read this, they have already heard or read about the announcement from Wizards that next year they will be printing the Dungeons & Dragons Third Edition Revised Core Rulebooks, with easier-to-understand text (so no more AoO confusions), and based on fan feedback (like the the unpopular ranger's generic two-weapon fighting feature). Plus there will be adding new content to expand the three rulebooks to 320 pages each.

Of course, my concern is that by the time the Revised 3e arrived, will we see a revised SRD (or SRD v1.5)? Granted, they have yet to release the remaining sections of the current original SRD, but can they pull it off like they did with the Modern System Reference Document (MSRD) when the d20 Modern Core Rulebook went on sale last month?

I suppose if the editors keep track of the changes that are made to existing rules as they are made, and the 25% new content is vetted for the SRD as it is accepted, the SRD update could be as timely as the MSRD.

In fact, the MSRD is probably a larger job because it had to be vetted in its entirety. If the bulk of the changes are clarifications of the wording rather than changes in the actual rules then there won't be much to update. Aside from the magic items there isn't much in the DMG that is in the SRD and my impression is that the MM is undergoing mostly layout changes. The 25% premium content from each book would be the bulk of the additions to the SRD.

My uninformed guess is that we won't see the monsters offically released in the SRD until after the revised MM is released.

Cheers.
