It's returned to my attention recently that people say a lot of things that are clearly and demonstrably stupid and wrong. Gamers are no different. In fact, all the things I'm going to call out below are from posts on gamer message boards. Please try to keep in mind that, no matter how worked up I get on a topic, my goal here is to help you express your ideas and opinions more clearly and in way more likely to have the impact you want.

Eh, the only thing I would like to see in the collective subconscious is "never tell anything to someone on a board, which you wouldn't tell him face-to-face". I don't particularly mind people asking for help with the OGL. :p

I think that Eric or Piratecat (or one of the other mods) should sticky this thread, and recommend that all ENWorlders read it. :)

Although ENWorld dosen't need it nearly as bad as rpg.net does. :p

I only think the IANAL bullet is a little harsh. After all, legal consulting can be expensive, and when you can find a friendly lawyer-gamer on a message board who helps you understand the minituae of the d20-system rules change and its relation to the Book of Erotic Fantasy, I don't think it's damning to do that.
Especially when otherwise, you'd have to find a lawyer knowledgable in U.S. law :)

Oh, and as requested: I not be English speaking firstly ;)

It may be expensive to ask for legal consults now, but if you get into trouble based on advice you find here, you'll have to pay an even bigger price later. Besides, no good lawyer give meaninful legal advice beyond the basics for free. Otherwise, why become a trademark and licensing lawyer in the first place? ;)

Agreed... but the problem with that is nearly everyone will say/feel that their posting habits are ok for the problem lies with everyone else...

Here's where I could say cliches like glass houses, and look in the mirror... but instead I'll just go read that post now :)
