My Players stay out. Now for some space to get the text out of the preview pop up. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . OK, I need a riddle or rhyme or some other kind of non-obvious clue. Here is the scenario: The setting is the "throne room" of an old mage's palace. Two pieces of the throne can be removed -- the "uprights" on the back of a throne. Instead of "balls" at the top of the uprights, they are shaped like flames. When the uprights are removed, they look like torches -- a shaft with a flame-like head. Earlier in the adventure, the PCs will probably have found some feathers from an angel's wings. What they are supposed to do is take the feathers to two chambers. One chamber represents Hell, the other the Abyss. In each chamber is a brazier. Put/toss/drop a feather in a brazier and it will burst into flame, burning for an hour. Stick the "flame" end of the throne upright into the fire, and the upright will burn with that fire like a torch. Do this with both uprights. Take the uprights back to the throne and replace them in their slots. The throne will then sink into the floor and reveal a pit down into the mage's "Arcane Sanctuary". On the back of the throne is engraved a clue to doing this. I created this little "system" a few months ago, and created the dungeon around it. I left the clue unmade, thinking I'd come up with something later. Well, I'm not a poet or clue writer, apparently. I havent' been able to think of anything. Can you come up with some kind of textual clue, poem, riddle, whatever that will tell the PCs what they are supposed to do? I'd love for the clue to be non-obvious until they've seen all the "parts" of it. Can you help me? Thanks much. I'm also open to adjustment to actual procedure. Quasqueton
