Haruka snarls as the creature grabs her. She twists out of its grip, running her fingers along its arm while she does so. Her tattoos uncoil from her arms and plunge into the beast, causing it to visibly wilt and fade. Haruka looks over her shoulder at the Lady and laughs. "Don't flatter yourself. I plan on living to make many more mistakes after this!" Derien winces as he watches their enemies lay into Ironheart, but from the other side of the bridge there isn't much he can do about it. He darts down the bridge and into the swamp, then turns Nerati's power on the monster that's keeping him from his new ally. The gnome steps back from the whispers and monsters. He wipes off some swamp-water that splashed in his face when the chokers emerged from hiding. “Whoa, tentacle-dudes, hands off the merchandise! Now this calls for some serious crowd control.” Rhole’s fingers dance across the Great Ultra-Intense Thundering Audio Ripper, emitting almost hypnotically rhythmic tunes. It draws the attention of one of the chokers in particular, though not enough to make it cease its grip on Ironheart. Ironheart roars and twists in the chokers grasp. His eyes grow red and his bark seems to blacken, while his limbs lengthen and grow stronger. He draws back his axe and deals the choker two mighty blows - WHAM! WHAM! [sblock=OOC] The first attack missed, the athletics check was enough to break out though. [/sblock] Ikni quickly changes plans, given the hidden foes. She quickly sketches a ward protecting others from the choker, and whirls her blade in a booming arc that shears through a goodly amount of its trunk. "Get back! Take this one down quickly so that we can move freely!" The woman steps forward in the muck, she opens her mouth and a terrible sound emanates from it, slamming into Ikni, Haruka, and Derien. Haruka's able to fight it off, but it catches Derien sending him into the muck. Ikni is unaware of the blast and it hits her full force, leaving her ears ringing as she flies off the causeway and into the swampy water far from her allies. The bloodied choker grins fiercely when the swordmage is sent flying and he's left alone with Haruka. He once again wraps his slimy tentacles around the warlock, but as he tries to constrict a magical force surrounds Haruka, preventing their squeeze. The other monster hears the splash as Ikni flies into the water and abandons his current target for easier prey. He reaches to Ikni and grabs on tight, nearly squeezing the life from the swordmage. Ikni's vision blurs and darkness threatens to overwhelm her. The small cloaked figure rushes towards Ironheart, shadows coalescing around it and it leaps into the air, driving its dagger up to the hilt of the large warden. Ironheart collapses under the assault and lies on the causeway, his life sap leaking into the wood.
