D&D 5E Rise of Tiamat - Misty Forest - Help Needed - Spoilers within

Evening all

right currently in chapter 4 the green dragon mask in the Misty Forest

The PCs successfully realised that Galin had betrayed the elves, albeit for initially a good reason.

I added a stone circle where he went to speak to the dragon and Nevorain. The PCs had a scene where they took the whole village there to wait for the dragon to turn up and said if it didn’t turn up they would leave the village. Galin gave an impassioned speech about his innocence ( rolled a natural 20 ) so most of the village are behind him and think that the PCs are clowns.

Obviously the dragon didn’t turn up, the PCs left as promised, and decided to heard towards the lair. They got half way there and then decided to camp up. Talk turned to what to do.
Basically the PCs have decided that they want to head back to the village and face down Galin when he next meets with the dragon rather than in the lair.
So with that in mind, my initial get out to get this back on track


Galin does speak to the dragon and Nevorain from the stone circle but does so via some sort of magical telephone so to speak. And they overhear the part about another village is to be targeted in two days. Location of which would take the PCs via the lair

yeah we got back on ok, the PCs decided to sort out Neronvain and Cthuth before sorting out Galin.

They even managed to befriend the Ettins (via some inspired roleplaying ) and got them to assist with part of the lair assault. Got back to the village and captured Galin, they then teleported to the High Forest and got the Elves on side. I have added a few more bits but we are still fairly true to the published adventure

so all in all we going well, next stop Thay excursion, just putting some fluff around the 3 pages from the book. All is building up nicely for the finale.

Sounds great! I'd love to hear more about the stuff you added. Have you seen the "Enhancing Rise of Tiamat" thread? It's a place for DMs to share the ways they've modified the adventure.

Great, thanks for asking! After finishing with Chuth, we went on hiatus, but we'll be picking up again in April. I plan to insert The Frozen Castle at that point.
