This list was a bit longer; you get stuff like create undead, most of the divination spells, gate, planar ally, planar binding, screen, etc. - mostly stuff that either has a long casting time already, or has a duration measured in hours or days/level.My question (and my point): What do you all think about changing some of these spells to be rituals? I don't want to go the 4E route and make ALL non-combat spells rituals, because that's just absurd, but there are a couple dozen like those I outlined above that lend themselves to being ritualized. Ritual spells would more or less follow the same rules as other spells (spellcasters only, you have to have the minimum stat to cast them, etc.), but I would adapt our ritual rules. I'm thinking something along the lines of the lead caster (for a multi-caster ritual) is the one who must be able to cast it (for example, casting gate requires a Wis or Int of 18). Adding more casters to a single-caster spell can have additional effects depending on the spell (beyond just adding metamagic); for example, having a couple friends to help cast a planar binding could increase the DC for the creature's Will save, or enable the caster to summon something more powerful.</blockquote>
