Seems to me that the axe he is grinding arises from his own particular perspective. He's still fighting some battles that finished long ago.

Who else's perspective would you expect him to represent?

I am specifically stating to take back creativity rather than have regurgitation and imitation rule. In both DMing (creating) and in purchasing adventures, Source Books, whatever. The model created by TSR broke after a while due to mass implosion. If people raise the bar rather than looking at models that have already existed this will effect both old guard and newcomers in a positive way. Hope you understand, now. What was done in the past--if you take a close look around, even here--cannot be undone. But a newer (fresher?) climate can be re-integrated into Classic Gaming over time through great examples of good to cutting edge products. I am suggesting a look back at the beginning and to start taking baby steps forward again.

I guess that wouldn't be the spot to do it, but someone needs to get as complete an account as possible of Robilar's adventure in the Tomb of Horrors, and how he went about facing the challenges (assuming that hasn't been done elsewhere that I don't know about).
